If you’re moving to Northern Kentucky and travel frequently for work, have family who visits often, or work in aviation, logistics or one of the many businesses surrounding CVG, living near the airport can make everyday life a whole lot easier.
And here’s something newcomers sometimes don’t realize: Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is actually located in Hebron, Kentucky, about 13 miles south of downtown Cincinnati.
As a local Realtor who has worked throughout Northern Kentucky for more than two decades, here are the communities I’d put on your list when looking for a home near CVG.
Hebron, KY
Hebron, KYIf airport convenience is your priority, Hebron is an obvious place to start because CVG itself is located here.
Hebron offers a mixture of established neighborhoods and newer developments, while also providing convenient access to I-275 and the surrounding Boone County communities.
For buyers relocating because of employment at or around CVG, Hebron can make the work commute especially convenient.
Burlington, KY
Just beyond Hebron, Burlington is another community I frequently recommend buyers explore.
You’ll find everything from established subdivisions to newer homes and properties with more land. Burlington can be a great option for buyers who want to remain convenient to CVG while getting a little farther away from the immediate airport area.
Florence, KY
If having shopping, restaurants, services and interstate access nearby is important, take a look at Florence.
Florence is one of Northern Kentucky’s larger commercial centers and provides convenient access to I-71/I-75 and I-275, making it practical for people who need to reach both CVG and Greater Cincinnati.
It also offers a broad mix of housing, from condos and townhomes to established subdivisions and larger single-family homes.
Union, KY
For buyers who want to explore newer subdivisions and larger homes while still remaining within the general CVG area, Union deserves a look.
Union has experienced substantial residential development and gives buyers another option when they want Northern Kentucky living without being directly beside the airport.
Erlanger, KY
Erlanger can be a convenient choice for buyers balancing airport access with a Cincinnati commute.
Its proximity to the interstate system makes it worth considering if one member of the household works around CVG while another regularly travels toward Cincinnati or elsewhere in Northern Kentucky.

CVG is also a significant regional employment and logistics center. The airport says its campus is home to the Amazon Air Hub and DHL’s Global Super Hub for the Americas, making nearby housing relevant to far more than frequent flyers.

When I’m helping someone shop near CVG, I recommend comparing the actual property, not simply choosing a community based on its distance from the terminal.
Pay attention to road access and your real commute during the hours you’ll travel. Also consider aircraft noise at the specific property, neighborhood traffic, home style, taxes, HOA requirements, future resale considerations and how close you want to be to shopping and everyday amenities.
Two homes that look equally close to CVG on a map can provide very different experiences.
